We are building the world's most advanced crypto arbitrage infrastructure — and we need exceptional people across engineering, research, compliance, community, and operations to do it. If the mission resonates, we want to hear from you.
There are a lot of places to work in fintech. Most of them are building incremental improvements to existing infrastructure — better UX on a payments app, marginal improvements to a lending algorithm, another cryptocurrency exchange with the same features as the last ten. Octagon is doing something genuinely different.
We are applying quantum-inspired computing and deep reinforcement learning to live cryptocurrency markets and opening the returns to any investor in the world with $120 and an internet connection. We are funding children's education and humanitarian relief with platform profits. We are trying to demonstrate that financial technology can be technically excellent, commercially successful, and socially responsible — simultaneously. That is the work. If it sounds like work worth doing, read on.
We compete for exceptional talent by offering the compensation, flexibility, and environment that exceptional people require to do their best work.
Every role at Octagon is remote-eligible. We have team members on five continents. Our async communication culture means you can do deep work without being on video calls all day, while still feeling genuinely connected to the team and mission.
Every full-time employee receives meaningful equity in Octagon from day one. Exceptional performance is additionally rewarded with discretionary bonuses tied directly to platform trading results — when Octagon succeeds, the team that built it succeeds with it.
Working at Octagon means working alongside PhD mathematicians, former Goldman Sachs quants, ex-DeepMind researchers, and Coinbase security engineers. The density of expertise per capita at this company is extraordinary — and everyone here is genuinely willing to teach.
Every full-time employee receives $3,000 per year to spend on courses, conference attendance, technical certifications, books, or any other professional development that makes them better at their work. We believe continuous learning is a professional obligation, and we fund it.
Quantum-inspired computing. Deep RL in live markets. Multi-chain blockchain infrastructure. Institutional custody systems. If you are passionate about working on technical problems that genuinely don't have off-the-shelf solutions, Octagon is the place to do it.
Full-time employees receive comprehensive health coverage, a home office equipment stipend (up to $2,000 on joining), flexible working hours with no rigid 9-to-5 expectations, and a generous paid leave policy with a mandatory minimum of 20 days per year.
All roles are fully remote and open to candidates globally unless otherwise noted. We do not filter candidates by geography — we filter by capability, judgment, and cultural alignment with our mission.
We are looking for a Senior Quantitative Engineer to join the core engine team responsible for Octagon's live arbitrage execution infrastructure. You will work directly on the systems that process 432,000+ daily operations across seven global exchanges, identifying and fixing performance bottlenecks, improving execution fill rates, and building new detection modules for emerging market opportunities. This is a high-ownership role that sits at the intersection of mathematics, computer science, and financial markets. You will write production code that runs live against real markets, review strategy performance data daily, and collaborate closely with the Quant and AI research teams to translate statistical models into executable trading logic. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in high-frequency trading, systematic execution, or quantitative strategy development, with strong Python and C++ skills and a genuine understanding of market microstructure.
As a Blockchain Integration Engineer at Octagon, you will build and maintain the smart contract integrations, on-chain monitoring systems, and cross-chain bridge implementations that connect our trading infrastructure to the decentralized ecosystem. You will work across Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, and emerging L2 networks, building robust deposit detection pipelines, wallet management systems, and DeFi protocol integrations that are reliable, secure, and performant at scale. This role requires deep knowledge of blockchain internals — not just solidity basics, but a genuine understanding of EVM mechanics, transaction finality, gas optimisation, and cross-chain interoperability protocols. You should be comfortable reading protocol documentation, writing from-scratch smart contracts, and debugging edge cases in production blockchain environments.
The ML Science team at Octagon develops and deploys the predictive models that power our arbitrage detection engine. As a Machine Learning Scientist, you will work on deep reinforcement learning systems designed to detect price divergences, predict short-term order book dynamics, and continuously adapt to evolving market conditions across exchanges. You will own model development from research hypothesis through offline evaluation, live paper trading, and production deployment — including ongoing monitoring and retraining. Your work will directly affect the returns generated for 520,100+ members every day. We are looking for someone with a strong academic or industry background in RL, sequence modelling, or financial ML. A PhD is preferred but not required if your track record in production ML systems is exceptional. Experience applying ML to financial data is a significant advantage.
Octagon's security posture is a first-principles commitment: no convenience trade-off will ever justify weakening a security control. As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and auditing the security systems that protect member funds and platform infrastructure. Your scope includes: cold storage architecture and key ceremony management, multi-signature wallet implementation and monitoring, infrastructure penetration testing, threat detection system design, incident response planning and execution, and third-party vendor security reviews. You will work closely with the Head of Security and have direct input into the policies that govern Octagon's most sensitive operations. Candidates must have deep knowledge of cryptographic key management, HSM operations, and cloud infrastructure security. Crypto-native security experience (exchange custody, DeFi protocols, or blockchain infrastructure) is highly valued.
Octagon's community of 520,100+ members is one of our most important assets — and one of our most important responsibilities. As a Community & Growth Manager, you will own the day-to-day operation and strategic growth of the Octagon member community across forums, social channels, ambassador networks, and live events. You will create content, host webinars, manage the referral programme, run member success initiatives, and identify opportunities to deepen the relationship between Octagon and its global membership. You will also work closely with the Education team to develop and distribute learning resources — from beginner crypto guides to advanced arbitrage strategy content — that help members get more value from the platform and make better investment decisions. The ideal candidate has built or managed a community of 520,100+ members in fintech, crypto, or a related field, and combines genuine warmth and communication skill with data-driven growth thinking.
The Risk Analyst role at Octagon sits within the Quantitative team and reports to the Chief Quantitative Officer. You will monitor real-time portfolio risk across all active Octagon arbitrage strategies, track drawdown metrics against target thresholds, analyse execution quality data across exchanges, and produce the daily and weekly risk reports reviewed by the executive team. When risk metrics deviate from model expectations, you will investigate root causes, quantify exposures, and recommend corrective action to the trading team. You will also contribute to the development and backtesting of new risk model components as the platform expands to new exchanges and asset classes. This role requires strong statistical knowledge, experience with financial risk frameworks (VaR, CVaR, drawdown analysis), and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving, data-rich environment.
Octagon's member-facing trading platform is the window through which 45,000+ members interact with their investments. As a Product Manager for the Trading Platform, you will own the product roadmap for the member dashboard, deposit and withdrawal flows, plan management tools, and reporting features. You will conduct member research, define requirements, write detailed specifications, collaborate with engineering and design, and drive features from concept to launch with urgency and precision. You will also work cross-functionally with the Quant, AI, and Community teams to identify platform features that can help members make better decisions and extract more value from their Octagon investments. The ideal candidate has at least four years of fintech product management experience, is deeply data-driven, and can move fluidly between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
Africa is one of Octagon's fastest-growing markets and a region the founding team cares deeply about. As Regional Operations Lead for Africa, you will be the primary point of contact for member acquisition, partner relationships, compliance, and community engagement across the continent. You will identify and execute growth opportunities in key markets including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa, working with local regulatory bodies, payment partners, and community leaders to adapt the Octagon proposition for regional needs. You will also support the rollout of the Children of Light and Digital Future social programmes in African communities. The ideal candidate is based in West or East Africa, has deep knowledge of the regional fintech landscape, speaks at least one local language in addition to English, and has experience leading operations in a high-growth startup environment.
We run a respectful, efficient hiring process. We move as fast as you do, give honest feedback at every stage, and never leave candidates waiting without communication. Our typical process from first contact to offer takes 2–3 weeks for most roles.
